Dear Residents of Vandenberg Village
Soon you will be receiving a solicitation Mailer from the Vandenberg Village Park & Playground Coalition requesting your financial support to help us build Constellation Park & Playground.
For over nine years now the VVP&PC have been working diligently behind the scenes to bring to our community a much needed park and playground. This design was based on the input we gathered from our fellow residents, area park & playground managers, health professionals and of course professionals in the recreational field. We are convinced the design is unique and will become a focal point of interest here in Vandenberg Village.
We now have construction ready documents and we are eager to begin – what we don’t have is the financial resources to begin construction. All along, our plan has been to build the park in phases – as we acquire sufficient funds for each phase. The following are our efforts to acquire the necessary funding.
We are resubmitting our California Proposition 68 grant application. The feedback we received from last year’s application has informed us that Vandenberg Village is competitive – but being successful this year is far from certain. We are applying for other grants – such as KaBoom, a playground equipment grant.
A good indicator as to how serious a community is about their project is how much effort they have put into local fundraising. As individuals within our community, we need to step up with a generous donation or sponsorship. It is my opinion that it is our generation’s turn to create a lasting legacy for the generations who follow us to enjoy. As you will see on our Mailer, our park design includes a donor wall to recognize those individuals who make a substantial donation.
Please visit our web site at (https://www.vvppc.org )for making on-line donations.
Sincerely,
Steven W. Heuring
